    We’re searching for a seasoned Quality Assurance professional to join a growing agricultural ingredients company at a pivotal time in the Company's history.  This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement complex quality management systems across multiple locations while the business undergoes commercial transformation.


    Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and acting as the focal point between R&D and commercial seed and grain production, the QA/QC & Compliance Director will be responsible for developing comprehensive Quality Management systems to support corporate strategic goals as well as implementing an effective Quality Assurance program, including certifications for regulatory quality standards, SOP development, Internal Audit/CAPA system & process development and employee training.


    The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial/customer-focused mindset, experience managing a Quality team, and a proven track record building quality management systems, implementing best practices (SOPs) and leading the qualification process for ISO, HACCP or cGMP.   This person will have strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate and influence at the senior management level.  The QA/QC & Commercial Director will have a deeply imbedded adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement as well as a keen sense of customer focus and service delivery.

    Job Function

    • Develop, own and drive a comprehensive Quality Management System at the company.
    • Lead the development of a comprehensive quality strategy to support corporate strategic roles.
    • Oversee and install an effective Quality Assurance program including but not limited to certifications for regulatory quality standards (cGLP, HACCP, cGMP, etc.), SOP development and document management, Internal Audit/CAPA system & process development and employee training.
    • Establish and oversee an effective Quality Control program, including testing processes and controls for both laboratory and field/product settings.
    • Ensure a strong, customer-focused quality and continuous improvement culture - both laboratory and field.
    • Serve as the SME for all quality-related matters and communications at the company.
    • Manage regulatory permits, licenses and inspections including readiness, responses and follow-up actions.
    • Collect and analyze quality data and report emerging issues or trends.
    • Develop and manage the QA/QC budget.
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision, both direct and in-direct, to all designated QA/QC personnel.
    • Manage a staff of QA/QC Associates.

    Job Requirements

    • BA/BS degree preferred in Business, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or related field.
    • Minimum 5-years’ experience in a direct quality (QA/QC) leadership role, preferably in a food or agriculture environment.
    • Experience certifying organizations to HACCP or cGMP standards.
    • Experience using and training on ERP systems
    • Experience with using a full range of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Travel up to 40%
    • Proficiency with MS suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
    • ASQ or other quality certifications a plus.
