  • Overview

    Searching for a self-driven and detail orientated Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager to provide leadership, training and development for all quality, food safety and lab operations at a growing food manufacturer in Kansas.

     

    The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for development and maintenance of all QA programs, meeting USDA, FDA and customer requirements and ensuring the quality and safety of supplied products.

    Job Function

    • Facilitate production activities to meet quality/safety, GFSI (SQF) audit standards and regulatory
    • Ensure the food safety plans are up to date and accurate.
    • Train all necessary employees on PC both on the production floor and reviewing documentation
    • Lead the food safety team.
    • Lead all customer, government and GFSI or other 3rd party audits
    • Implement continuous improvement in Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Weight Control.
    • Along with the production manager hire, train, promote and discipline production staff as needed. Educate and train the workforce on daily tasks including, production equipment, PPE’s, GMP’s, etc.
    • Support new product efforts from initial test runs to full-scale production to assure integrity of systems.
    • Work with other departments to resolve any customer concerns, including providing Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Plan to the customer.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology, or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance / Food Safety position within an SQF food manufacturing plant. 
    • Knowledge of GFSI, HACCP, ISO, and FSMA to establish SSOPs and GMPs would be an added bonus.
    • Experience liaising with FDA/USDA would be ideal.
    • Strong data management, reporting, and technical writing skills
    • Effective and timely verbal and written communication skills.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
