  • Overview

    We are searching for a Director of Procurement to lead the purchasing functions, systems and personnel at a large dairy processor in the Central Valley, CA.  This is a highly visible position reporting directly to the CEO and is responsible for a team across 5 different plants and the corporate office.

    Job Function

    This role has a focus on implementing best practices across multiple business units while reducing costs year over year.  The Director must be able to develop the people, processes, and technology along with building solid partnerships with various third-party providers, especially line haulers, in addition to key internal stakeholders to ensure efficiencies and to reduce costs and customer chargebacks.

    Job Requirements

    • BS in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management; or equivalent experience
    • APICS, CPPO, CPPB or other advanced certification in procurement preferred
    • 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience with purchasing experience within the Food & Beverage industry.
    • Background in Project Management or Process Improvement with a track record of generating savings through vendor management and contract negotiation
    • Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
    • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high performing teams.
    • Ability to develop positive working relationships in a cross-functional team environment
    • Proficient in relevant ERP software required; Microsoft D365 preferred.
