  • Overview

    We are working on an exciting Director of Operations opportunity with an agricultural business based in the Central Valley, CA. This person will report directly into the Vice President and will be responsible for managing the daily operations of a new production facility and a total team of 20-30.

    Job Function

    • Ensuring production processes meet all mandated and required company safety policies and procedures

    • Working with safety resources to ensure environmental compliance, safety compliance, program updates and implementation as required

    • Overseeing production process

    • Maximizing efficiencies of production process to lower costs

    • Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials

    • Organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment

    • Determining quality control standards

    • Working with the Sales Department on product availability, grower requests and inventory accuracy

    • Preparing daily production cost worksheets for review by the Senior Vice President

    • Working with Government agencies with respect to licensing and compliance issues

     

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in operations, business, or related field with minimum of 5 years experience in production management role
    • Track record of maximizing efficiencies of production process to lower costs
    • Experience working as part of a cross-functional team on grower requests, inventory, etc.  
    • Familiarity with Government agencies with respect to licensing and compliance issues
    • Experience working with safety to ensure production processes meet all mandated and required company safety policies and procedures
    • Background in farming or agriculture preferred
