  • Overview

    We are searching for a Sr. Director of Marketing and Business Development to join the executive leadership team at a global ingredients business in MD.

     

    The Sr. Director will develop strategic marketing initiatives and lead a team of 19+ across product management, global business development, market development, market research, marketing communications, inside sales and the center of excellence platform.

    Job Function

    • Develops and implements marketing plans and operating budgets, including the introduction of new product launches, growth of existing product lines, positioning in the marketplace, promotions and communications and trade advertising.
    • Researches, reviews and evaluates competitor data, market/industry conditions and customer research to effectively implement the overall marketing/branding strategies.
    • Provides leadership to and/or supports the overall health and movement of the R&D Applications mini-gate and Core stage-gate innovation funnels.
    • Executes an effective strategic marketing plan for the Beverage COE and any additional market segments we decide to pursue; accountable for meeting yearly sales growth goals.
    • Responsible for training and ongoing support of the Regional teams to generate opportunities and realize new business.
    • Develop and implement a long-term business and operating budget for any additional market segment we choose to invest in.
    • Oversees the development of all product positioning and ROI analysis to support the launch and commercial success of new and key existing products.
    • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, social media, branding, promotional materials, and events.
    • Ensures all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources.
    • Establishes target customer lists for select innovations and the implementation of successful target customer introductions.
    • Responsible for the commercial success of the Company's innovative product line through the development and execution of effective marketing strategies.
    • Serves as the department representative on the Executive Leadership Team.
    • Serves as a leader for strategic initiatives as agreed upon with management.
    • Follows all company safety rules in performing job duties.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Business-related field.  MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience within the food ingredient or technical solutions industry.
    • Experience developing and implementing marketing plans and operating budgets, including the introduction of new product launches, growth of existing product lines, positioning in the marketplace, promotions and communications and trade advertising.
    • Solid business and financial acumen, including the ability to utilize financial metrics and knowledge of business cost structure in supporting and making decisions.
    • Track record of develop high performing teams through mentoring, accountability and provide ongoing and constructive feedback.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to utilize influencing skills effectively in a cross-functional environment.
    • Ability to travel up to 50%.
