    Senior Pet Food Ingredients Trader required to add direct value to the specialty products division of a commodity trading business with multiple assets in the US. 


    Competitive base salary with significant upside available depending on the net profit of your P&L. 

    Job Function

    • Accountable for specialty products P&L.
    • Daily execution of physical trades, including communication with international suppliers, customers and freight vendors.
    • Analyze market information to ascertain supply and demand trends.
    • Responsible for the sourcing and sales of specialty products to customers and suppliers in North America.
    • Price and contract negotation for physical commodities. Requires a high volume of communication with key players throughout the marketplace. 
    • Execute and optimize supply chains from different origins to many destinations within the North American market.
    • Close interaction with key and strategic customers . Cold calling and developing relationships with new suppliers and customers. 
    • Maintain and develop relationships with freight providers including truckers, rail carriers and other modes of freight. 
    • Contract formation, supply chain management, position management, accounts receivable management.

    Job Requirements

    • Existing book of business with suppliers, pet food manufacturers and co-packers in North America.
    • 5+ years of experience trading pet food ingredients, specialty grains and pea proteins preferred.
    • Track record of margin enhancement and value-added approach to business development while maintaining the requirements on quality and safety
    • Hands-on relationship building and customer retention experience
    • Experience managing logistics and establishing pricing strategies.
    • Ability to travel up to 30% to meet customers and attend industry events.
