  • Overview

    We are searching for a Controller to join a food manufacturer based out of Northern CA. The Controller is the key financial contact person for the finance team and will be responsible for providing the financial expertise and recommendations that enable effective decision making within the business. This is a highly visible position that will report directly into the CEO and serve as a “change agent” for the company.

    Job Function

    • Report directly into the CEO and effectively lead a team of 3 direct reports in: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll
    • Play critical role in implementation of ERP system implementation (SAGE X3)
    • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting across all business units and ensure the execution of the core functions of the accounting group, especially strong compliance and controls and systems integration.
    • Recommend improvements to senior management to enhance financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
    • Improve the month end close process; review procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
    • 5-10 years of progressive experience within manufacturing – food manufacturing preferred
    • Prior involvement in an ERP system upgrade or implementation is highly desirable (Experience with SAGE X3 a plus)
    • Track record of establishing controls to improve standard costing and financial reporting.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and changing environment.
    • Proven leadership and change management skills and ability to work effectively with upper management to make calls on budgeting
    • Ability to connect with all levels within the organization to foster a collaborative work environment focused on employee engagement and building high performing teams.
