  • Overview

    We are searching for an Accounting Manager to lead the finance and accounting function of a privately-owned food manufacturer in the Fresno area.  The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the budget process as well as improve standard costing and financial reporting with a goal to optimize the Company’s profits and provide financial strategy for continued growth.

     

    As the most senior finance position within the company, the Accounting Manager will provide leadership for a small accounting staff as well as provide oversight for other areas of the business, including HR, insurance, legal, and IT.

    Job Function

    • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll Departments
    • Manage daily cash position and forecast
    • Review and reconcile all accounts and prepare monthly financial reports using an ERP system 
    • Review monthly reporting of financials with CEO and provide critical insight
    • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
    • Oversee and update inventory and product costing function
    • Maintain banking relationships by providing timely financial analysis, forecasting covenant compliance and reviewing equipment and loan terms
    • Establish a system of internal controls to minimize risk
    • Maintain compliance with government agencies
    • Act as the point of contact for external CPA
    • Manage non-accounting functions such as insurance, legal, HR and IT support using a combination of research, staff, outside consultants and personal knowledge
    • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner 

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred but not required.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in an Account Manager capacity.
    • Background in cost accounting ideally within food manufacturing.
    • Experience developing an annual budget, analyzing variances and provide critical insight to senior management.
    • Ability to utilize ERP system to reconcile accounts and prepare monthly financial statements.
    • Experience maintaining banking relationships by providing timely financial analysis, forecasting covenant compliance and reviewing equipment and loan terms.
    • Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills with experience implementing performance metrics.
