  • Overview

    We are searching for a detail-orientated individual to provide key insights to the senior leadership team.  This position reports directly into the VP of Sales and is responsible for providing key support to sales by tracking, investigating and reporting sales information as well as vetting business development opportunities. The role will act as a liaison between sales and all other departments to provide high level customer satisfaction and support, enabling the Company to be seen as the “supplier of choice” to current and future customers.

    Job Function

    Business Development and Project Management (30%)

    • Lead and improve the Business Improvement Team (BIT) process, which manage all sales pipeline opportunities, ensuring appropriate cross-functional alignment and execution against the top commercial priorities
    • Coordinate and improve the Company’s Request for Proposal Bid process including but not limited to coordinating activities around initial vetting, data collection, competitive positioning, financial modelling, etc.
    • Represent the sales team on all Product Launch meetings and ensure appropriate communication of and execution against sales priorities by coordinating with both the right sales team member and customers as needed
    • Be first point of contact for all unsolicited customer calls into the Company, vet out opportunities and assign to appropriate sales team director

    Customer Management (35%)

    • Lead all new customer, new item, new vendor, new broker, new wholesaler and new distributor set-up paperwork, ensuring information is collected timely and routed to the right contacts
    • Coordinate sample requests in conjunction with product development
    • Lead our internal setup with Master Data Management (MDM) for all of the above partners
    • Oversee the Company’s customer portal management process ensuring portal information is up-to-date, accurate, and internal stakeholders are trained on customer portals
    • Develop and maintain the Company’s broker management processes including the broker hub with all required resources for brokers to effectively represent the Company to our customers as well as broker business reviews and cadences
    • Work with marketing and sales leaders on any customer presentations as needed and ensuring appropriate sales tools and promotional calendars are distributed to the right sales team

    Sales Analytics

    • In alignment with Sales and Marketing leadership, oversee the collection and organization of competitive intelligence (e.g. pricing, promotions, products, etc.) including but not limited to RFP and bid feedback, field data, store walk-throughs, competitive announcements, etc.
    • Develop and maintain consistent sales reporting packages that deliver key insights to the sales team, our brokers, and customers incorporating data sources including but not limited to point-of-sale, shipment, and IRI causal data
    • Provide analytics support for the sales team for key processes and cadences including but not limited to forecast reviews, monthly and quarterly performance, development of scorecards, and Board of Director meetings

    General (20%)

    • Manage the customer deduction process in conjunction with customer service ensuring timely resolution of deductions through timely collection and organization of support documentation and escalating issues to the appropriate sales team member when necessary
    • Ensure compliance of sales team against shared drive portal management
    • Assist in all sales meeting coordination and logistics

    Required Duties of all Associates

    • Manage all company business according to the cultural objectives of the company (values and behaviors)
    • Understand and execute the principles of the company’s Operational Excellence program driving the right behaviors, standards and continuous improvement across all operating entities
    • Participate in cross-functional teams as required to advance the business interests of the company
    • Compliance with all company and regulatory policies/guidelines relating to associate safety, food safety and food quality

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or Marketing
    • 5+ years customer management experience in a similar planning role
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX, AS400, and Targit is a plus
    • Proficient skills in Excel including pivot tables, charting and formulas
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including all Outlook features and options to track tasks and projects
    • Proficient Power Point skills including formatting, charting and linking data
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
    • Leadership skills to collaborate functions resulting in project execution
