We are searching for someone with a track record of selling fresh produce to national retailers and distributors to develop and implement a sales strategy for a food treatment company in Atlanta.
Create and implement effective sales strategies and lead nationwide sales efforts toward achievement of corporate sales objectives.
Provide sales management, budget controls, forecasting and incentive planning.
Proactively identify changes in food safety treatments, quality, and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies accordingly.
Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary.
Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales organization.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
Manage to meet/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
Manage accounts within the company and work to increase accounts across the sales organization
Partner with Chief Commercial officer to create Corporate and Strategic Accounts in the development of key customer relationship management.
Lead in the development of products, services and pricing strategy.
Negotiate sales quotes and pricing with potential and existing customers
Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments to address key business issues and opportunities.
Ensure effective recruitment of sales team members, orientation, training materials, development and understanding of sales offerings and food safety requirements.
Provide supervision through facility/field visits, customer visits, observations and measurement of results to include performance reviews
Maintain competitive knowledge in Food Safety treatment to create and adjust sales strategies.
Attend FDA and other food safety meetings, trade shows, seminars and conferences as appropriate.
Must follow all instruction related to Food Defense and Good Manufacturing Practices Must stop and report to the Food Safety Department any problem or irregular situation they are made aware related to food safety. Enforce security and food safety standards, policies, and programs related to HACCP, and third party standards, regulatory standards, food safety training programs, product inspections, and any work instructions.
Required to follow all quality system, general safety, OSHA, USDA/APHIS, FDA and State of Texas regulations requirements when visiting facilities. This is a general caveat on all job descriptions according to position.
Bachelor’s degree in business or sciences and 8+ years of sales, produce and/or food safety treatment or relevant experience.
Proven business analysis and ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.
Experience and success in leading, developing, recruiting, managing and retaining a high performance diverse sales team
Demonstrated ability to develop systematic and comprehensive business and technical sales and processes.
Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans.
Success in developing new products, series and pricing plans.
Solid understanding of food safety treatments and regulatory requirements and issues
Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of senior management
Exceptional negotiation skills.
Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
Strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management skills.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Must be able to travel 50% of the time.
Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
