  • Overview

    The Assistant Controller reports to the Idaho Region Controller and will train and develop a team of staff accountants.  You will oversee inventory analysis and reconciliation, month-end, plant cost accounting, sales margin analysis, operating expense analysis and mark-to-market accounting for the Idaho Region.  This region has full P&L autonomy and consists of 50+ employees across 7 dairy feed manufacturing facilities.

    Job Function

    • Manage business unit accounting duties including:
    • Inventory analysis and reconciliation – primary role
    • Month-end journal entries
    • Plant cost accounting 
    • Sales margin analysis
    • Operating expense analysis
    • Mark-to-market accounting
    • Managing, directing, training staff accountants

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting or related field, from four-year college or university required
    • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.  Feed or Agricultural industry experience preferred
    • Mark-to-market accounting experience required
    • Inventory management skills desired
    • High level of proficiency with Excel and Access required
    • This position will require an intensive use of Microsoft Excel and Access, the successful candidate will be able to manipulate data in excel to assist management in accurately analyzing inventory issues
