  • Overview

    We are searching for a Controller to add direct value to a food manufacturing company based in Northern CA. This person will undertake all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and payroll, as well as development and oversight of internal control policies and procedures.

    Job Function

    • Financial Statements - produce complete and accurate financial statements monthly.
    • General Ledger - maintain with accuracy.
    • Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable - manage accounting clerk to ensure that accounts are maintained and managed accurately and on a timely basis.
    • Inventory - Responsible for accurate and timely management of inventory accounts.
    • Payroll - responsible for working with our outside payroll service to maintain payroll.
    • Asset management - track and maintain schedule of company assets.
    • Analysis - work on various projects to analyze and track the operating efficiency of the company’s operations.
    • Create and update various accounting, inventory and production documents.
    • Meet deadlines with grower payments
    • During milling season, work with President and VP Operations to track and report on mill operations and efficiency.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s in accounting or related field and 5+ years of finance/ accounting experience
    • Thorough knowledge of general ledger, recording accruals and managing month-end/year-end close process.
    • Experience preparing financial statements
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, QuickBooks, FishBowl, and Adobe 
    • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
    • Proven record of implementing new processes/ procedures to improve efficiency 
    • CPA an added bonus
    • Spanish bilingual an added bonus
