  • Overview

    Exciting opportunity for a Vice President, Sales  to set the strategy to achieve sales revenue numbers, budget and profit goals for the Residential product portfolio of a global industrial manufacturing company based in MO.  The position will provide overall leadership to the sales team to elevate the sales organization to the next level and will manage relationships with other internal functional areas to ensure appropriate resources are available and focused to support selling objectives.

    Job Function

    • Select, develop, and coach a professional sales team to meet or exceed specific goals for profitable revenue growth. 
    • Develop and implement annual sales plans by region and customer account. 
    • Implement the company's sales process to establish a culture of consultative selling to customers’ decision-makers at all levels. 
    • Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in large accounts. 
    • Pursue identified business prospects, participating actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities. 
    • Manage and enhance a P&L statement relative to areas of responsibility.
    • Manage SG&A for areas of responsibility and direct reports.
    • Collaborate with marketing resources and the sales leadership team to define overall sales strategy, and to develop products and solutions responsive to the customer's business.  Apply research insights and to provide compelling advertising solutions based on the company's business strengths. 
    • Coach sales team to build effective staff relationships that enable them to respond quickly to emerging customer opportunities, and provide for seamless execution of the company's business processes that exceed customer expectations. 
    • Establish a planned program for sales coaching, working with sales professionals on all aspects of the sales process.  Make coaching sales calls with team members to provide feedback, and to assist with large opportunities.  
    • Travels extensively to meet customers and to coach sales team in the field.
    • Works cross-functional with operations, finance, marketing, HR, IT and other groups across Air Management Groups to ensure needed resources are focused to maintain and grow profitable business within the Residential business. 

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Marketing or related field of study; MBA degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10+ years of sales management experience with 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership role.  Experience in the industrial manufacturing industry and managing sales through distribution network preferred.
    • Proven history of developing a high performing team: building trust, delivering feedback/coaching, setting expectations and holding others accountable.
    • Must possess consultative sales skills that demonstrate proven acumen in sourcing, contacting, conducting senior level presentations, negotiating, closing sales resulting in acquiring and retaining accounts
    • Results over the past 5 years must demonstrate the ability to continually exceed quotas and expectations through new business development in a self-sufficient, autonomous environment.
    • Familiarity with salesforce automation systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).  Experience with SAP would be a plus.
    • Ability to travel 50% to 60%.
