  • Overview

    We are searching for a Quality Assurance/ Sanitation Manager for a food production comapny based in Colusa County to complete or assign work to ensure Quality Assurance, Food Safety, GMPs, Hold Tag, Product Recall, Pest Control and Sanitation Policies and Programs are adhered to and documented accordingly.

    Job Function

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Institute, maintain, continually review and improve:
    • Quality Assurance Program (Paddy Receiving, Mill, Packaging and Shipping)
    • Food safety / HARPC Program
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). \
    • Hold Tag Procedure
    • Recall Program
    • Sanitation Program
    • Departmental Safety Policies
    • Train all Quality Assurance, Pest Control and Sanitation employees to fulfill all essential duties to CHM's standards.
    • Audit all sampling procedures, samples and grader's results daily.
    • Inspect all Departments for compliance to CHM's Food Safety and Sanitation standards.
    • Complete reports and required documentation that details all Food Safety, GMPs, Quality Assurance, Hold Tags, product and supplies receiving and shipping details daily, monthly and yearly.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Directly supervises the Quality Assurance, Pest Control and Sanitation Department personnel carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work.

    Job Requirements

    • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules and SDS laws and regulations. 
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 
    • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Required within 6 months of hire date: a current State of California. Qualified Applicators Certificate, current CPR and First Aid Certification, current valid California Driver's License required. Must be insurable and have clean Motor Vehicle Report. Certificate of insurance required when using personal vehicle for company business.
    • Other Qualifications: Must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime as necessary. Good computer skills required and have the willingness to learn new processes as needed.
    • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Biological Science or 5+ years' experience in the above areas.
